Hey you! YOU ARE teaching and don't let anyone convince you that you aren't. You teach me all the time =) All you need to do is continue to be a great example. That speaks louder than any curriculum.

You're h4wt in teacher mode, lol! But seriously, you look like you put a lot of energy and soul into it which is always very heartening to see in teaching.
As for the Powerpoint thing, that's indeed hilarious. Next up will be the Google Calendar reminder

Death by power point is a daily occurrence in real life. These managers like to make a power point presentation, print it out, hand out the copies, and then read you each slide without saying anything that is not in the slide!
They don't let you bring

guns and knives to school, but they let you do power point. There is just no logic in life anymore!

Great to see you in action (briefly).
Teacher mode - must be something about the vibes from the blackboard (?chalkboard).
"We're different at work than when at home"->????? Hubby says I'm just as bossy at home because I was a nurse!!!

My punishment for not having been here for so long... I only got to see the first 1:30 of this...bah. But I did want to say that you're Brave for vlogging in your classroom... regardless of the time of day ;) Good week, my dear Syd.

When I was in school, two of my classmates died within a week of each other of darvon overdoses. Another classmate lost it and shot his parents and grandfather. The week Patty Hearst was kidnapped, the school started getting weekly bomb threats from

kids claiming to be the SLA so that they could get out of class for a couple hours while the school was searched.
And yet in spite of all that turmoil, it seems like a simpler time compared to what kids must contend with now. My best friend teaches in an inner-city school, and every year she calls me in tears on the first day of school (I'm expecting her call this week.) "If it were only teaching..." indeed, Syd.

The FEAR Chronicles: The Next Generation of Fear
What does it mean to grow up in a paradigm full of fear (the terrorist threat, the war on terror, evil axis, etc)?
What's really communicated to young people when world leaders engage in wars without consequence

(freedom on the march, no accountability for deception on a global scale, no personal consequences for leaders making decisions that continue to cost thousands of innocent lives) while the adults in their lives tell them violence is not the way?
What goes unspoken while they watch the nightly news, seeing bloodied children being carted away on stretchers and then being asked, via bumper-stickers-galore, to support the troops without questioning what that looks or sounds like.
Sometimes all it takes is a few markers, a big piece of paper, and about fifteen minutes of their time.
