That's why I had to build this one outdoors. Not enough space indoors. Plus I can take advantage of ambient daylight to even things out on the greenscreen area.

You can still do this with normal house paint. Just be prepared for it to take longer, that's all. Get the most saturated green you can find, like a pure green pigment, with a flat finish.
Perhaps you could Google-search something like "Rosco Chroma
more...
Key Paint Supplier UK". It's nnot a paint you can buy at your local paint and hardware store. It's formulated for the needs of video production. But I know that TV people in England use Chroma Key. How else would you explain "Boobah"? LOL

looks great! Natural light is the best way to go as long as you have enough contrast between you and the green background.

Yeah, ambient daylight in the shade gives a very even tone, and as you can see, the shadows are so soft as to not really make a difference, even when I'm right up against the wall.
So I figure a combination of ambient daylight ans some proper electric

lighting (Halogen shop lamps for now) will give me the right mix of exposure, saturation, and evenness of tone. For more extreme dramatic lighting, I can shoot at night.

Expect to pop for around $70.00 for a gallon of this stuff, but it GOES a LONG way in coverage, quick drying time, and time saved. It pays for itself. We haven't even used up half a can yet!

I actually CAUGHT your keyboard solo there much earlier today, Jayen! I enjoyed it very much.
The painted area is approximately 7 1/2 feet high by exactly 12 feet wide. Check out the next video I just uploaded and you will see how big it is in relation

Great color of Chroma Green. There at the beginning, it looked like you were being washed out a little.. when you stepped back it was a lot better. Thanks for the tips..

Yeah, I noticed that right off the bat. That fall-off from direct sunlight to the shadow area on my yellow tank top must read as green to the camera, so it keyed out in that situation. Of course, twisted mind that I am, I'm always thinking how I might

be able to USE that! LOL
I like to test my greenscreen gear in LESS than optimal conditions, just to see how forgiving my software can be under less than ideal circumstances. If I can make it work under the wrong conditions, then It gives me more confidence under the right conditions.
I also forgot to manually set the exposure level, so when I DID step into the sun the camera wouldn't compensate, and thus screw up my key a bit. Overall, however, I'm pretty happy with these initial results. Thanks for watchin'!

$72.00 US for a gallon of this stuff, but ONE COAT gets the job done, where I previously used THREE coats of Behr Premium house paint. If time is money on your set, then the Rosco paints definitely save you money. It's a cost versus value argument. Big thanks to my best bud Larry Lo Presti for coming over on his days off and helping me get this project more and more completed.
