Well my family celebrates St. Patrick's day - it's in Mom's blood (last name, Dad's side, is clearly German). I can't speak for Quebec but Winnipeg, Manitoba has a HUGE cultural event every August: "Folklorama". There is more than one Celtic pavilion; you're basically _IN_ the country of your choice for an hour or two, then you go to another one. It's weird more people haven't heard of my city, for which "Winnie-The-Poo" is named and.... the best music comes outta here! |

* Surprisingly, as few seem able to name 1: Canada only has 10 provinces. We divide territory less.
* National anthem "O Canada" was composed in French. The English translation (most popular, with the majority English-speaking) is what you hear at sporting events with other countries. But say 2 Canadian hockey teams are playing... then English and French versions are sung. |

I am from Texas-USA....I have never been to Canada, but my parents had visited there and loved it - they traveled there by train over ten years ago. What srpigns to my mind first about Canada is that Michael J Fox is from there, but also lately what comes to mind is that I have met some really nice people on LV from there, such as Carolyn, strayfer, TuxedoMask, & Toushay-aka Shaymoyer...and I'd love to meet all of these wonderful Canadians in person one day!
