Canon vs. Nikon: which one do you favor now, and what do I do with my old large format Deerdorf?

I haven't stopped by to look at that as an option, mostly because I know I could not afford it even if. Having my choice of which Canon would be a tuff one. I would have the conundrum of scenic (Canon 1ds mark 11) or a Canon with a faster drive speed. 3-5 frames a sec just does not cut it for catching the action, I know a lot of people cringe when they hear that, but the height of drama seems to happen in the instant and it is gone, that would be for bird shots primarily. It use to be said that it was the photographer and not he equipment that made the shot, but in light of all the changes to digital technology since the 1996 or so, looking around, i would say that these cameras are offering such great options to good photographer that we are seeing greater numbers of higher quality images when the action of the image is primary. No one can follow focus like and automated system from Canon under proper operating controls.
