| A melancholy little video I put together one rainy more...afternoon, a disjointed tribute to science fiction and just plain strangeness. I felt the imagery fit the tune very well and formed a dark little "tone poem" if you will. For more fishtanksamurai videos go to: http://www.liveleak.com/user/fishtanksamurai less |

An exciting look at the attack on the Death Star and more...the WW2 themed movie that inspired it. The Dam Busters starring Michael Redgrave and Richard Todd was released in 1954 and centers on the British Air Force's efforts to destroy German dams using a bouncing bomb. The concept is very similiar to the final sequence of Star Wars which was released in 1977. Many scenes from Star Wars are almost id More..entical to the WW2 movie, from the cockpit banter to the trench approach to the target. To get the full effect one should view both films. Anyone who has ever enjoyed Pink Floyd's The Wall will notice that The Dam Busters is the film that Pink is watching in his apartment. This is not meant to be a critizism of Star Wars, which is probably my favorite film of all time, but as a tribute to the innovation that Star Wars brought to the art of film making. Enjoy, fishtanksamurai. less |
