Dear {Name},
My heart will always have an open door for you waiting for you to come in. Even though you left, I hold no ill feelings towards you. You are my one great love and the one "that got away" if you will let me be a little cliché. There is nothing you could ever do to make me turn my back on you. I am still completely entranced by you and I would wait forever if I knew there was even the smallest of chances for your return.
I understand why you needed to leave and I am not trying to plead for your return to me and our relationship. I am not trying to change your heart of make you feel those feelings which escape you right now. I just wanted you to be aware that if you ever had a change of heart, I will always be here for you.
If someone treats you unkindly, you always have a shoulder to cry on. If someone hurts you, I will always be here to make you feel better. If you are sad or depressed, I will always do my best to cheer you up and make you smile again if that is what you desire. If you are having problems of any sort, I am always here for you and will help you work them out. For any problem, I will do my best to be whatever you need. I still consider you my best friend, and best friends are here for each other.
Of course, I still miss you. I will not deny my feelings for you and my desire for you to return. I think about you every day. I miss our talks, our cuddling, our kissing and the feelings that you can only share with your beloved. I miss it all terribly. I miss seeing your face so much that sometimes I shut my eyes as hard as I can until I can see your perfect face in every detail. I pretend that you are right there, holding me and loving me once again. It helps me cope with the pain I feel.
If ever you should change your mind, don't be afraid to tell me. My feelings will remain the same for a long time and I am sure of this. And I hope this comforts you too, knowing how much I miss you and knowing that there is someone who loves you all of the time, no matter what.

Dear {Name},
It seems obvious to me now that we were meant to be together. This separation has been good for us and allowed us to open our eyes to see how silly the trivial problems we had actually are and it gave us room to heal and let our hearts grow strong again. And now I can honestly say that it is you I want in my life. I miss you dearly and I want you to come back to me.
I know we have had our share of problems. Every relationship experiences those complicated times. But I am willing to work those issues out with you, without the tearful confrontations and without the anger and hurtful accusations. I think we can move beyond that now. With this space we have given each other, I have been able to see the more important issues. And you are the most important thing in my life, the most precious person, whom I do not want to lose. You have been a gift in my life and I was taking advantage of it, I almost lost sight of what a special and promising blessing you have been to me. I promise you that I will never lose sight of just how important and dear you are to me ever again.
Come home to me and let's work on making this a loving and complete relationship. They say if you can make it through the toughest times, your relationship will be all the better for it. We will have a new found understanding for each other and our mutual love will be that much stronger. We will be able to get through any other problems with ease. We only need to compromise with each other.
The point is, I love you. Our love is something that we need to try and hold on to because real love is rare. It is too easy to give up and throw in the towel. I opt for taking the difficult route and try to work things out with each other because the reward will be wondrous. I apologize that it took me so long to come to this conclusion, as I apologize for so many other things. I only hope that you have come to the same conclusion, and you will come to talk with me very soon.

Dear {Name},
Being so far apart from you makes me realize how much I need you in my life. "Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder" is a true adage and I knew as soon as we parted that I would feel this way. But this statement is sorely understated. My heart has not only grown fonder, but it has grown deeper in love with you cradling the most profound feeling of true love and the need for us to be together forever.
There is not a minute that goes by without an image of you bathed in pure light reflecting the beauty I see in you, inside and out. I think about you in every way. I imagine you lying next to me. The very thought puts me at ease and makes me feel a level of comfort that has since eluded me. And when I realize that you are still gone, I drop down once again into that great chasm of sadness only comforted by the fact we will be together someday.
It is when I feel the greatest desolation and joylessness of not having you by my side when I ultimately realize how much I need you in my life. Our conversations and phone calls brighten my day for as long as I let them. I can only imagine how happy I will be when we are once again together and inseparable.
Yes, inseparable. I love the sound of this word. One day, we will be inseparable. The sweet joy of that word on my tongue makes me shiver with delight. I can not wait until that dream comes true. Every inch of my body needs that dream to come true. I need you. I miss you. I Love you.
