Yahoo has announced that their live video streaming service Yahoo Live will close December 3, nine months after launching.

Live video in general has seen a huge growth in popularity and was seen as a experimental hotbed for Yahoo. Yahoo hasn’t said publicly why it is closing the service, but my guess is live video isn’t cheap to provide, and with the recent economic downturn, a service like Yahoo Live may have been an obvious candidate to drop.
