| Friday, July 3, 2009 at 10:49 AM | HAPPY CANADA DAY! Each July 1st, the world's second-largest country celebrates her birthday. Yesterday the occasion marked #142. Ron & I haven't been up for crazy parking or bottleneck crowds in years but he walked down our road to see the fireworks. Spring flooding ended but heavy rain last week caused a river rise around southern Manitoba, which includes our capital city, Winnipeg. Our popular "Paddlewheel Queen" fleet has been at a standstill so far, due to unsafe levels and rushing debris. more... Many riverbank residents avoid traffic by docking at The Forks, one of two locations the city chooses for the event each July 1st. When Ron cycled earlier in the day, it was clear boating prohibition at the Forks didn't put any dent on patriotic participants. Crowds were gatherering early to watch the display and sing "Oh Canada" together. less |

| "Bang (Starting Over)" |
| Here's the 2nd single from "Bang (Starting Over)", 1990, Corey Hart's fifth studio album. His genre changed with every release, this one harder rock. "Bang" abbreviates a positive thought: "Build A New Garden". |

| I'm blessed to experience Corey in concert thrice. more... Usually storyline videos, this is a taste of his high-energy performance. It blows you away to be there (especially when it's your tradition to evade guards and skip to the front). Album "Boy In The Box", 1985. less |
